Gorey enters Leinster Leagues

For the first time ever, Gorey has entered a team in the Leinster Chess Leagues (Bodley Division). The first round saw a loss to the strong St. Benildus A team by the narrowest of margins, 3-2. The second round was against the Round Towers team from Clondalkin. Round Towers created a lot of controversy this year by entering a new team in the bottom division that is strong to play in a much higher division. Against this backdrop, Gorey’s 3.5-1.5 defeat was in fact a great success. We look forward to Gorey’s first match victory which cannot be far away.

Round 3 takes place in the Loch Garman Arms Hotel, Gorey on Saturday, Dec 1 from 2.30 to 4.30. The opponents are Blanchardstown. Spectators are very welcome to attend!
