Goodbye to Georgi

Georgi Hubenov left Gorey Chess Club, and indeed Gorey, to return to Bulgaria in June. Georgi has been a stalwart member of the club for several years and made a key contribution to the Gorey team that was promoted up from the Bodley league this year. His departure was marked with a going-away party and presentation in the club. His chess culture and good humor will be missed in the club, as well as his ability to score points against strong league opposition. We wish him in is his new life “back home” and hope to see him in Gorey again in the future.
